| Biography Hamed Ketabdar is a Senior Research Scientist at Quality and Usability Group, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories (T-Labs), Berlin, Germany. His main topic of research in T-labs is context aware applications for mobile phones. In order to recognize context, different modalities such as audio and sensory data are used. Recognition of context is then used to enhance behaviour and functionality of mobile phones, as well as designing new applications for security, health care and monitoring purposes. He received his PhD in Automatic Speech Recognition from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL). He was a research assistant in Speech group of Idiap Research Institute (www.idiap.ch) from 2004 to 2008. During PhD studies, his research has been mainly on using artificial neural networks for acoustic modelling in speech recognition systems. | |
