I O G R A P H Y

Vladan
Velisavljević was born in Šabac, Serbia, in 1974. He received B.Sc. and
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Belgrade,
Serbia, in 1998 and 2000, respectively and Ph.D. in Electrical
Engineering from EPFL,
Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2005. From 1995 to 1998, he was awarded the
Fellowship Grant from Telekom Srbija. From
October 1999 to October 2000, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant
at the Department of
Telecommunications, School of Electrical Engineering,
University of Belgrade, and from August 2001 to October 2005, he was a
Teaching and Research Assistant at the Audiovisual Communications Laboratory,
EPFL. From October 2000 to July 2001, he was attending the Pre-doctoral
School at EPFL, where he was awarded as the best student in class. In
2003, he was at an internship at the Communications and Signal
Processing Group, Department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, Imperial College,
London. He has served on the Technical Program Committee as a reviewer
of the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP2004, ICIP2005), the
IEEE & ACM International Conference on Information Processing in
Sensor Networks (IPSN2005), the
IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal
Processing (ICASSP2004, ICASSP2005). He
has also been reviewer for (among others) the IEEE Transactions on
Image Processing, the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, the IEEE
Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and Applied
Computational and Harmonic Analysis.
Since
January 2006, he has been Senior Researcher at Deutsche Telekom
Laboratories,
Berlin, Germany.
His
research interests include:
- Signal
and image
processing: Image compression, denoising, multi-resolution
analysis, resolution enhancement, recognition, classification
- Light-field
rendering:
Plenoptic function representation and compression, multi-view
interpolation, free-point TV
- Distributed
signal
processing for networks: Wireless sensor netowrks, network
correlated data gathering
